ELECTRICAL
NEUTRAL-TO- EARTH VOLTAGE EVALUATOR TRAINING
A 20 hour course covering identification of sources of neutral-to-earth voltages that can be found on livestock farms and around swimming pools, including steps that can be taken to mitigate problem voltages.

offered by Michigan State University, including some hands-on exercises and use of the National Electric Code, dealing with service grounding and bonding, supplying power to outbuildings, and special farm wiring rules.

ONSITE WASTEWATER

SOILS TRAINING
The session is intended to provide individuals with a basic background in soils, soil classification, and various capabilities in regard to onsite wastewater treatment. There will also be some field review and discussion of the various types of septic systems installed at the training center.

EXISTING SYSTEMS EVALUATOR TRAINING
This course will emphasize understanding of conventional septic systems and will provide the knowledge required to do evaluations such as may be required at the time of property transactions. This in-depth training program includes a complete course manual plus an extensive hands-on field evaluation of an actual operating system. An examination will be administered to evaluate the knowledge level of participants on completion of the course. The course along with the pumped systems evaluation course will prepare participants to take the national certification exam offered by NS

ONSITE WASTEWATER SYSTEMS 101
This two day program is designed for professionals working in the field of onsite wastewater treatment and dispersal. The program is designed to meet the needs of installation contractors, sanitarians, system designers, and others who work in this field. It will improve the skills needed in your job. The course provides a basic understanding of the functional characteristics of conventional septic systems and alternatives that are commonly used in Michigan. Fully one third of the class is conducted in a field laboratory setting where participants will see and have hands-on experience with hydraulically functional actual size system components. Dress appropriately for the anticipated weather conditions so that you will be comfortable being outside for an hour or more at a time. After taking the class, you will have increased understanding of how onsite systems function.

PUMPED SYSTEMS EVALUATOR TRAINING
This training is designed to instruct participants how to evaluate existing onsite wastewater systems which involve pumps and the associated controls for pumped absorption systems, pressure dosed mounds, sand filters and other alternative systems. Participants should have a basic knowledge of conventional system evaluation.

ONSITE WASTEWATER SYSTEMS MAINTENANCE
This maintenance workshop is designed to prepare wastewater professionals to provide the necessary maintenance services on conventional and alternative systems. Any system having a pump or other mechanical device should have at least annual visits by a trained professional. Put yourself in a leadership position by attending this workshop taught by instructors who are actively involved in system maintenance
