Large Format Printer

There are two large format HP Designjet 800ps plotters available which prints on 36" paper (35" Plots). Plots may be picked up in DECS Support Office during hours of operation. Plots MUST be submitted at least 30 minutes prior to the Support Office closing time. 

Tips to Keep in Mind When Designing Posters:

• Any poster measuring over 35" in width may loose content around the edges due to the size and margin limitations of the plotter.
• DECS has a large paper cutter that accommodates pages up to 54" in length, any poster greater than 54" will need to be cut manually with scissors by the user.
• If you wish to laminate your poster it should be less than 52" in length due to the limitations of the paper cutter.
• The limitations in PowerPoint will not allow us to print a slide that is longer than 56".
• Larger files can take up to several hours for the plotter to process. Large files can be caused by multiple or complex images.

The plotters are for use by any faculty, staff or student member of MSU.

The plotters are located in the DECS support office, 1325 Engineering Building.

For engineering faculty, staff, or students, plots can be deducted from your print quota at a rate of 150 pages per plot or can be purchased for $7.50 per plot.

For non-engineering faculty, staff, or students, plots can be purchased for $7.50 per plot plus labor costs that vary with poster quantities.

NOTE: Plotters are reserved for Engineering users during the last 2 weeks of every Fall and Spring semester.
