Screen is a full-screen window manager that a user to run multiple windows thru a single session on a server. It also allows a user to disconnect from a running process and return later to reconnect to the same process.
SODA (Structural Optimization Design Analysis) is a program produced and distributed by Acronym Software Inc. SODA is a useful tool for the design and analysis of structural designs. SODA has many features that make it a valuable program and user-friendly. Some of the features include analysis of 2D or 3D designs, optimization tools, and tension-only or compression-only members. Soda is available on all of the DECS PC lab computers.
Sonnet
Sonnet is circuit design software for 3D planar circuits and antennas. 3D planar circuits are usually embedded in dielectric material.

Sun Grid Engine
Grid Engine is a Distributed Resource Management (DRM) software. DRM software aggregates compute power and delivers it as a network service. Grid Engine software is used with a set of computers to create powerful compute farms available for applications and users. DECS Grid Engine can be configured to utilize either Sparc or Linux servers or both, depending on the application.
Sun Studio
Sun Studio software delivers high-performance, optimizing C, C++, and Fortran compilers for the Solaris OS on SPARC, and both Solaris and Linux on x86/x64 platforms, including the latest multi-core systems.
Symantec AntiVirus
Symantec AntiVirus is a virus protection suite produced by the Symantec Corporation. Symantec AntiVirus provides many features for keeping your computer clean and protected from viruses. Symantec has modes for auto-protection with real time scanning, fully customizable scans, and infection quarantines. Symantec is available for installation on College of Engineering owned computers.
Synopsys
Synopsys is a suite of software tools for circuit design and PC board fabrication. NanoSim, HSpice, Taurus and Saber are among the tools. The Electrical and Computer Engineering department uses these in some classes and research work as alternatives to the Cadence tools.
